Co-occurring concerns
- Mental health and substance use concerns that may both need attention. A qualified clinician can assess the situation.
Intervention
- A planned effort to encourage someone to accept help, often with professional guidance and supportive people involved.
Interventionist
- A professional who helps plan and facilitate an intervention. Verify their specific credentials, scope, and experience directly.
Peer support
- Support that draws on shared or lived experience. It does not necessarily include clinical treatment.
Referral
- A recommendation or connection to another service. A referral does not guarantee availability, coverage, or suitability.
